It’s fairly safe to say that on our last Chelsea FanCast of the season, we are most definitely Happy Ones! The Hallelujah’s rang out on Monday as we welcomed The Special One back home in his second coming. A nice way to end this season or to begin next season – either way we are all happy.

On the last show of the season, we talk about Jose’s second coming and have a look back over the season and in the process we reveal the winners of the end of season awards – The Fannies of the Year!

The Italian Football FanCast is the podcast for fans of Calcio and the Italian National Team.

This week on the show, normal host and Editor of Forza Italian Football, Dov Schiavone takes something of a backseat as we have a new host in the chair. Joining Stefano is Adriano Boin, Peter Galindo and Eirik Heggelund.

With the Azzurri set to take in Mexico in the opening match of the Confederations Cup 2013, we assess how Cesare Prandelli's men have prepared for the competition.

We take a look at the recent performances against Haiti and the Czech Republic, as well as, casting our eye over the squad chosen by the former Fiorentina coach.

Without letting Italy hog all the limelight we do welcome some guests to aid us in the dissection of the group. BBC Sport's Tim Vickery will go over Brazil, Tom Marshall of ESPN and Goal.com is an expert on the Mexican national side, while Dave Phillips from JLeague.co.uk is out man, not quite, in Japan.

Meanwhile, the Confederations Cup isn't the only international competition happening at the moment. Italy U21 are competing in the European U21 Championships in Israel and Devis Mangia's men are lighting up the tournament with a string of impressive performances, and with the group stage over, we take a look at the tournament so far.

The Italian Football FanCast is the podcast for fans of Serie A and Calcio.

With everything all but sewn up in Serie A, only the small matter of Champions League and Europa League qualification remained to be settled.

Fiorentina needed a favour from Tuscan rivals Siena against AC Milan if they were to have any chance of securing a place at Europe's top table and it almost came as the Robur raced into the lead.

However, some controversial refereeing, a penalty, and Philippe Mexes saw Massimiliano Allegri's men take the third and final Champions League spot.

Elsewhere, Udinese secured European qualification with a stunning 5-2 win over Inter at the San Siro, while their only rivals for the last remaining Europa League spot, Lazio, were defeated away to Cagliari, meaning they must win the Coppa Italia if they are to qualify for Europe.

All this and a whole lot more, including our Serie B expert Kevin Tarbuck in on hand to tell us all about the goings on in Italy's second tier and who managed to win promotion into Serie A.

With the Scudetto sewn up by Juventus last week, out attention moved to the bottom end of the Serie A table, as the relegation race reached its climax on week 37.

Palermo travelled to the Stadio Franchi knowing that nothing less than victory overFiorentina would effectively end their stay in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Siena, all but destined for Serie B, had to faced off against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo, knowing that anything less than victory would see them relegated no matter what, and even then, they still had to rely on Genoa being beaten by Inter at the Stadio Ferraris.

Elsewhere, AC Milan played out a pretty stodgy affair at the San Siro, although there were some off field incidents to take into account, including the cancer if Italian football… Racism.

Chelsea marched on to their second European final in 2 seasons with a devastating 10 minute spell against Basle last week, and then sneaked a 1-0 win against Utd. If we beat Sp*rs on Wednesday, Champions League qualification will be sorted!! But does the Fat Spanish Waiter deserve any credit or should the players alone take the plaudits. And talking of the players, should David Luiz be vilified for grinning after being kicked by Rafael?

Inter travelled to Napoli with no strikers and opted for a 3-7-0 formation, but it wasn't enough to stop the majestic Edinson Cavani, who bagged a hat-trick against the Nerazzurri.

Miroslav Klose was another frontman on form this weekend as his FIVE goals helped Lazio to a 6-0 drubbing of Bologna.

Meanwhile AC Milan left it late against Torino, as they capitalised on Roma's last gasp win over Fiorentina, to move them closer to Champions League qualification.

The Italian Football FanCast is the podcast for fans of Serie A and Calcio.

This week on the show, host and Editor of Forza Italian Football, Dov Schiavone is joined by Ryan Ross, David Tenenbaum and Luca Persico.

The Scudetto race is almost over with Juventus’ win over Torino leaving them one game away from clinching back-to-back titles. It could have been very different, however, if Napoli hadn’t defeated Pescara on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, that loss of the Granata means they could be sucked into a relegation scrap as Palermo and Genoa both picked up vital wins, against Inter and Chievo respectively. The Rosanero’s match at the Stadio Barbera did make headlines, not for the result, but for an injury sustained by Nerazzurri captain Javier Zanetti, which may have put his career at risk.

Serie A’s other relegation threatened side, Siena, travelled to Rome to face Aurelio Andreazzoli’s Roma. It was not a happy hunting ground as the Giallorossi usurped the Robur 4-0 with Pablo Osvaldo silencing critics thanks to a magnificent hat-trick.

Elsewhere, there was tension at the San Siro as AC Milan came form behind twice to defeat plucky Catania. The Rossoneri had Giampaolo Pazzini to thank as his second half brace rejuvenated Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

The Biter Bit! The Chelsea Football FanCast #242

Stamford Chidge and the boys are joined by special guest Dan Levene from the Fulham Chronicle to discuss Mad Dog Suarez biting Brana and Rafa's Liverpool love in and all round ineptitude!

Sunday’s match against Liverpool is best summed up by “He waves to the Kop, takes off our best players, doesn't defend our players, leaves our Captain on the bench, Rafa Benitez…he loves Scousers”. Harsh but probably true! From a position where we should have rammed home our advantage, we tried to hang on and ably abetted by another incompetent refereeing performance, we get mugged by a mad rabid biting dog. It could only happen at Liverpool…the home of Rafa Benitez!!!

On a somewhat lively post-traumatic show, we discuss the game against Liverpool and ask is Suarez the biggest xxxx in football, and we look back at the win against Fulham and the Youth team’s excellent semi-final win against Liverpool in the Youth Cup. Juventus took on AC Milan in the big clash of the Serie A weekend, but the game didn’t live up to the pre-match hype and was decided by an Arturo Vidal penalty kick.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri’s rivals for the third, and last, Champions League spot,Fiorentina, played out a thrilling match against Torino, which included a number of spectacular goals.

There was controversy of sorts in Napoli’s late win over Cagliari with the referee in the spotlight once again, and in the relegation battle Siena slipped up, but Palermo and Genoa were unable to take full advantage of Chievo’s gift.

Elsewhere, Inter managed to get a much needed victory over Parma at the San Siro, Roma only managed to draw with lowly Pescara and Udinese continued their late bid for European football next season.

This week on the show, host and Editor of Forza Italian Football, Dov Schiavone is joined by Enzo Misuraca, Peter Galindo and Padraig Whelan.

After a bit of a break, the boys are back with a monster of a show. First off we have the Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio. A mouthwatering match that really was a game of two halves.

Elsewhere, there was controversy at the San Siro as Inter went from 3-1 ahead to 4-3 down in a matter of minutes. But is Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti right? Is there a referee conspiracy against his club?

AC Milan were also on the receiving end of some conspicuous refereeing as they drew 2-2 with Fiorentina, despite playing the entire second half with a man extra.

Meanwhile, the relegation battle took more twists with Siena, Palermo and Genoa all battling against the drop. We assess who will remain in Serie A next season.

It’s all Italy this week as the Azzurri played two matches either side of the weekend.

First up were Brazil in a friendly last Thursday, then came Malta in the World Cup qualifier.

The Azzurri managed to come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with the South American side. Inspired by Mario Balotelli who scored the goal of the game to tie the match.

In Tuesday’s Group B qualifier, Cesare Prandelli’s men travelled to the tiny Mediterranean island to face a stubborn Maltese side. But it was that man Balotelli who came to the rescue once more as the Azzurri left 2-0 victors.

This week on the show, host and Editor of Forza Italian Football, Dov Schiavone is joined by Enzo Misuraca, Ogo Sylla and Ryan Ross.

Roma captain and club legend Francesco Totti broke a longstanding record this week against Parma as he became the outright second highest goalscorer in Serie A… Ever! Totti bagged a sumptuous freekick to to round off an impressive performance that has the capital club back in contention for European football.

Mario Balotelli continued his impressive form for AC Milan by grabbing a brace in their 2-0 win over Palermo at the San Siro. However there was a moment of controversy when Cristian Zapata appeared to deliberately handle the ball, which stopped Palermo breaking through on goal, though he was not sent off.

Napoli got back to winning ways against Atalanta, as Edinson Cavani also brought an end to his goalscoring drought with a brace against La Dea. Goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis was once more in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Elsewhere, Juventus continued their winning form with an easy victory over Bologna in a match that was more controversial for events off the field. Fiorentina managed a 3-2 win over relegation threatened Genoa, and Lazio were defeated by Torino in another match with a controversial refereeing incident.

AC Milan were destroyed by Barcelona in their Champions League tie on Tuesday. Lionel Messi was in fine form and broke something of a duck against Italian sides with his brace. But we ask where did it all go wrong? Was it Massimiliano Allegri and his tactical choices? Or were the players just not up to the task?

Back in Serie A, Inter suffered a shock defeat to Bologna at the San Siro, with former Milan striker Alberto Gilaridino grabbing the only goal of the game. This coming after a humiliating defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League, the pressure really is on coach Andrea Stramaccioni, who could be out of a job come the summer.

Elsewhere, Juventus pretty much wrapped up a second consecutive Scudetto with a 1-0 win over Catania, but it was Chievo who delivered the title to them as they defeatedNapoli 2-0 at the Stadio Bentegodi.
